Students, alumni, faculty, staff and the public are invited to attend a special screening of the documentary "Miracle on Promenade," an hourlong history of Rhode Island Junior College/Community College of Rhode Island from 1964-1980 that was produced by CCRI's Department of Marketing and Communications. The event, sponsored by the CCRI Foundation, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Greenwich Odeum in East Greenwich. General admission costs $10 and student admission is $5. Tickets may be purchased at the Greenwich Odeum box office or online. Any proceeds from the event will help fund student book scholarships.
The film includes historical footage as well as recent interviews and encompasses the establishment of a junior college in Rhode Island, its presidents, the expansion to the Knight and Flanagan campuses, and the name change. Click here to see a preview of the documentary.
