ABOUT ABOUT

Come enjoy a night of music and fashion at ELECTRONink: A Fashion Show Festival! With a theme of "music festival," local entertainment, drinks, the latest Free People fashion provided by Rhode Island's largest boutique distributor, henna and homemade flower crowns (and more!), it's sure to be a one-of-a-kind night!

What originally started as a simple way to give back during the off-season of photography, became an incredible fundraising event that gets everyone involved excited! Going into its 5th year, the fashion show has continuously grown, selecting a cause to raise money for every year. The theme creates the foundation for the entire production. Local photographer, Laura, of Laura Ink Photography, produces the show and takes the models through the entire process of training.

In 2014, the Three Square Meals program, created and produced annually by Ocean State Job Lot, raised more than $1.4 million for the program, which resulted in Job Lot donating 109 tractor-trailer loads of food (a $4.2 million food value) to 15 food banks in the eight states where Job Lot stores are located. Each truckload contained about 40,000 pounds of nutritious, shelf-stable food, which served 1.2 million people. Job Lot covers all logistical expenses of the deliveries including warehousing, labor and gasoline, ensuring that every penny of every dollar raised by donations is used to buy food. Job Lot purchases the food throughout the year, negotiating the best prices to stretch these dollars. This food gets distributed to food banks across New England.

Several major changes to the show are occurring this year, including a new stylist (Gossip Boutique of Wickford, Wakefield, and Newport, and Beatnik Boutique of Wakefield, both owned by Janelle Feigley) with the latest bohemian fashion (the stores being the largest provider of the brand, Free People, in Rhode Island), a fresh and corresponding theme of a music festival (the name of the show being “ELECTRONink: A Fashion Show Festival), and several new vendors participating in activities prior to the start of the show. It is our second year hosting the show at the Greenwich Odeum, a classic, historic theatre in downtown East Greenwich that has been an upward project for the last several years in renovations and bringing the theatre back to life.
