ABOUT ABOUT

Trumpeter Doug Woolverton showcases Miles Davis's hits from 1950-1990 as well as the ENTIRE "Kind of Blue" album as it was recorded.

Performed live, his arrangements are exact. Solos performed by Doug and his band are not transcriptions of recorded artists, but improvised; showcasing each musicians true personality and talent, giving the show a very personal touch. Doug's desire is to bring his audiences worldwide, back in time with their ears through a musical journey themed around the great, Miles Davis. Performing Miles Davis hits from 1950-1990 including the ENTIRE "Kind of Blue" album. It really is a musical experience hearing the evolution of jazz music in the 40 years Miles recorded it. "Kind of Blue" was recorded and released in 1959, and is today, the highest selling jazz record of all time.

This modal record has been hugely inspirational to Doug's sound and style and has been influential to his melodic and lyrical sound. Doug Woolverton's Tribute to Miles Davis show is energetic, educational, swingin', passionate, and the sound of his 1947 Martin Committee trumpet makes you feel like you are on a musical journey and one not to be missed.
