ABOUT ABOUT

Come join the KroppDusters for an evening of Americana music! With special guests the MacLean Sisters...

The KroppDusters acoustic music blends folk, old time, bluegrass, new grass, swing, country and celtic styles of music.

Featuring banjo master Mike Kropp, guitarist and singer Bill Henry, bassist and vocalist Jeff Horton, mandolin man and singer Monty McClanahan, and claw-hammer banjo player Lisa Schmitz.

Henry, Kropp, and Horton are all former members of Northern Lights. Mike Kropp is an award-winning banjo player and was once a producer for Columbia Records. Bill Henry was with the Lights for over 25 years. Nashville native Monty is a great songwriter and we are lucky to have his wicked mando chop in the band. Jeff has been playing bluegrass bass since the late 70's and, with Mary Maguire, have led harmony workshops at many festivals for the past 15 years. Collectively, members have also been a part of New England’s own Southern Rhode, The Pegheads, The Neon Valley Boys, and the Parallel String Band.

The vocal blend between Monty's tenor, Bill's baritone, and Jeff singing most anything, is a wondrous thing to hear. Lisa adds yet another voice to culminate in some fine 4-part harmony, Lisa at the top, with Monty and then Bill, and Jeff singing bass.
